THIS IS FROM MY OTHER MEETUP GROUP:  Random Acts of Kindness Volunteer Group/Denver Chapter:

Christmas is a special time to spend with family and friends; but what if you have neither. That is the case for some of the Seniors at the Summit nursing home. Every year for the last 4 years we have gone to the home for an hour on Christmas morning to put smiles on the faces of these senior citizens. Let's make it 5 years this year !!

Please bring your families, friends, co workers, whomever you can to help us walk the hallways and look for people to give hugs, say Merry Christmas, or even give a small wrapped gift to.

In the past we have been able to get enough donations so that every senior got a gift wrapped present. I know this is a tough year for everyone, so if you are unable to bring anything than PLEASE don't let that stop you from coming to this event. As nice as a gift is, most of them just want to see friendly faces on Christmas. So please join me and my family on Christmas day!!

Gifts:  If you are able to bring gifts than please follow these simple rules.

  • wrap them before you come
  • try to be as neutral as possible (male/female)
  • things like blankets, socks, gloves, chocolates, etc.
  • Rather than spending $20 or more on ONE gift, spread that money out on more smaller gifts so that we can try to get everyone a gift =)
  • Homemade gifts are awesome too !!

**  When you reply that you are coming, IF you are bringing a gift please let me know exactly how many you will commit to so that I can keep a count of what we have coming.

Hope to see you all there. This event warms my heart every year =)

Happy Holidays

REMEMBER: You don't HAVE to bring anything. Your presence to these lonely seniors is a wonderful gift!!! If you want some ideas to stretch your money, the Dollar Store has some very neat things that they enjoy VERY much! I have taken lotion, body scrunches, large print crossword puzzles, yarn, books, cologne, toiletries, etc. Contact me if you need suggestions! Thanks!!
