Creekside Park & "Sand Beach" in Glendale by John Edwards of Boomer Social Network (see below for directions) ADM: $10 ea. Included: hot dogs, chips, pickles, a tropical fruit bowl, cookies, marshmallows, soft drinks, lemonade and ice (plus the park rental) BYOB Bring your own wine and beer. The new King Soopers liquor store is only a block away.(Bring your own steaks and chicken. But, not hamburgers which really smoke up the covered dining pavilion.) Music: Old time rock & roll plus some country and music for line dances will be played early. At dusk, the picnic becomes a "beach party" and evening dance under the stars around the pavilions. Seating is in the sand or on the big lawn. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. From the South: From I-25 travel north on Colorado Boulevard to East Virginia Ave. (Sheraton Hotel on SE corner of intersection, Shot Gun Willy's on N.E. Corner of intersection, and Holiday Inn Select on N.W. Corner of intersection) Turn east (Right) on East Virginia Ave. and travel to South Clermont Street turn South (Right) and park along street in marked parking spaces. Creekside Park is on the West side of street (Right).
From the North: From I-70 travel south on Colorado Boulevard to East Virginia Ave. (Sheraton Hotel on S.E. corner of intersection, Shot Gun Willy's on N.E. Corner of intersection, and Holiday Inn Select on N.W. Corner of intersection) Turn East (Left) onto East Virginia Ave, Turn south (Right) on Clermont Street. Creekside Park is on west side of street (Right). Park in street side parking lot.
