Setting Up Your Own Website

We are now recommending Bluehost.com because of its superior customer service and lower prices. Bluehost also provides an absolutely fantastic spam filter.  I was getting 300 spam emails a day. Once I used the spam filter I receive 8 a day.

Bluehost will provide unlimited different websites for a total of  $6.95 per month.  You can then have many different email addresses of your own choosing. For instance my real estate email address is ron@tallmanhomes.com.  Plus you can set up for e-commerce so people can buy things online from you. (Many hosting companies charge $50 to $200 per month for this e-commerce alone)

If you are familiar with word processing programs such as Microsoft Word, it really is fairly easy to set up your own website. You can do it all through Bluehost.com.  I spent considerable time researching this company and believe it is reliable and cost effective.  However,  denversocial,com is not responsible in any way for orders placed here.

How to Set Up a Website

1) The first task is pick out a name for your website.  All names are registered and you can check to see if the name you wish (like www.denversocial.com) is  registered by clicking on  the Bluehost.com icon in blue below. Then click on the left hand box marked : Domain check. It costs NOTHING  EXTRA to register and maintain one website registration at  Bluehost.com if you sign up to use them to host your website. (Most companies charge an additional $11.95 or more per year just for the website name registration.)

2) Select your website provider or host.  The best one I have found is Bluehost.com. 

3) Design your website. You can purchase an application program from Microsoft called FrontPage and design your own web page from there.  It costs around $130.  Or you can just use the do-it-yourself program provided by  Bluehost.com.
